SANITY FAIR BY ED GRIFFIN-NOLAN

Compassion helps a family through a doubly difficult time

It was the worst of times. And it was even worse than that. It was Sept. 11, 2001, and I lay on the floor of a room at Crouse Hospital, unable to sleep, my gaze shifting back and forth from the muted television images of the crumbling World Trade Center towers to the face of my gently sedated 12-year-old son lying in the hospital bed.

School Haze

By Staff
It’s high time for a definitive resolution on the renovation of Blodgett School

When you’re a kid all you really want to know is that the grownups have things under control so that you can go about the business of being a kid. So it’s probably a good thing that most kids don’t pay attention to what the grownups have to say about the future of our economy, both here and nationally. Because if they listened, it would sound like Mommy and Daddy are fighting, and we don’t know what’s going to happen.
