In the Delicious Irony department, a group of female impersonators is preparing for an annual fundraiser for women undergoing cancer treatment that are likely feeling less than womanly.

Forty-eight nominee entries for the 2011 Syracuse Area Music (Sammy) Awards have been received and distributed among 11 categories spanning pop to hip-hop. Potential winners are in the running for awards which will be presented on Friday, Nov. 11, (11-11-11, get it?), 7 p.

The Music Industry Conference, MIC, is returning to OnCenter, 800 S. State St., on Friday, Nov. 11, and Saturday, Nov. 12, this year featuring five music industry speakers. Friday’s headlining event will be the Syracuse Area Music Awards (Sammys).
