Sci-Fi Sexy

For those who are fond of Jane Fonda (above), especially during her light-comedy mode during the 1960s, the “Brew & View” 35mm film series offers a psychedelic trip down movie memory lane with 1968’s Barbarella. It’s a nonsensical outer-space romp that begins with the actress performing a weightless strip tease, then moves on to interplanetary tomfoolery that features a character named Duran Duran and offers one of the all-time weirdest title themes. The fun begins on Friday, March 1, 7:30 p.m., at Eastwood’s Palace Theatre, 2384 James St. Also on the triple bill: The Warriors (9:15 p.m.), director Walter Hill’s wild action opus involving New York City gang rumbles, and 1975’s drive-in classic Switchblade Sisters (11 p.m.), a favorite of Oscar winner Quentin Tarantino. Admission is $10. Call 436-4723 for details.
