As the Stone Turns

Utica’s WUTR-Channel 20 has produced a TV special titled Jackpot: Turning Stone, a 60-minute profile of the origins of Verona’s Turning Stone Resort and Casino, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary in July. Included in the broadcast will be interviews with Oneida Indian Nation CEO Ray Halbritter (pictured in a 1993 shot), who has some personal stories to share, along with Syracuse New Times managing editor Bill DeLapp chatting about the resort’s entertainment options, such as the Showroom, Event Center and the upcoming multi-venue Exit 33 complex. Since WUTR and Syracuse’s WSYR-Channel 9 are part of the Nexstar Broadcasting chain of TV stations, Channel 9 will also air Jackpot on Saturday, March 2, 7 p.m.
