Rama Lama Ding Dong
The New Times crew is a generous, involved bunch. Just a few weeks ago, senior writer Ed Griffin-Nolan organized a walk/run through downtown Syracuse that raised more than $9,000 to assist those on Staten Island still reeling from the aftereffects of Hurricane Sandy. And now to a new initiative, this one of a more artistic bent. Designer Meaghan Arbital has created and signed a clever interpretation of His Holiness, the Dalai Lama (above). She, with the assistance of Commercial Art Supply, is raffling off a matted and framed print of the illustration, starting Thursday, Dec. 20, at the 935 Erie Blvd. E. store. Tickets cost $5 each, and 100 percent of the money raised will be given to Griffin-Nolan’s Syracuse Sandy Relief effort. And anyone who purchases a ticket will receive a 51 percent off coupon good for one item in the store.
Buy your tickets at Commercial Art Supply, 935 Erie Blvd. E. Drawing is on Dec. 30. Stop by the store or call 315-474-1000.
