It’s a Wonderful Life

.
. . . . . .

It’s such a wonderful picture that director Frank Capra’s 1946 yuletide classic starring James Stewart and Donna Reed (pictured) will screen several times in Central New York this weekend, both inside the cozy confines of late 1920s-era movie houses. Rome’s Capitol Theatre, 220 W. Dominick St., is first at bat, with 35mm showings on Friday, Dec. 14, 7 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 15, 2:30 and 7 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults, $2 for children; call 337-6453. Then on Sunday, Dec. 16, a 1 p.m. showing takes place at downtown Syracuse’s Landmark Theatre, 362 S. Salina St., which is part of an afternoon that also features an ugly Christmas sweater contest and a 4 p.m. screening of the 1983 comedy A Christmas Story. Admission is $3 for one movie, $5 for both; dial 475-7980 for details.
