Now in its 19th season, the downtown Skaneateles tradition known as Dickens Christmas offers a cast of more than 60 re-enactors dressed up in Victorian-era apparel as they entertain visitors from noon to 4 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 23 and a mini version Dec. 24 from noon to 2:30 p.m. There are scenes from Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. (12:30, 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. both days), along with 2 p.m. sing-alongs, horse-drawn wagon rides, roasted chestnuts, eggnog and more. The festival, which lures more than 20,000 visitors to the quaint Finger Lakes village, is free. For information, call 685-0552 or visit skaneateles.com.
