Hart Seely

.
. . . . . .

Over the course of his life, Syracuse Post-Standard writer and humorist Hart Seely has picked up another job title: master of the cosmic balance. And from his couch he uses this mastery to power the Yankees to victory, or so he wishes. Seely has documented all this in his memoir, The Juju Rules: Or, How to Win Baseball Games from Your Couch. At the Colgate Inn, 1 Payne St., Hamilton, he will preside over a book signing and beer tasting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 15. The book is a humorous autobiography, with the Bronx Bombers as the running theme tying the book together. Like many sports fans, Seely developed superstitious habits during the games that he would “use” to try to help the Yanks win. He calls this the art of “juju.” After the signing and tasting, Seely will stick around to watch the Yankees game against the Texas Rangers with whomever wants to experience the juju firsthand. A ticket costs $25, and includes a copy of the book, samples of beer from Cooperstown Brewing Company, and a Colgate pint glass. Buy tickets in advance online at colgatebookstore.com/jujurules.
