WSTM-Channel 3 chief meteorologist Wayne Mahar’s pet project, the Priscilla Mahar Animal Welfare Foundation, holds the third annual Canine Carnival on Saturday, Aug. 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Long Branch Park, Longbranch Road, Liverpool. The event will feature a concert, vendors, a Red Cross blood drive, carriage rides around the park and activities for kids. Bring your dogs, because the Carnival will offer dog grooming, and Spay and Neuter Syracuse will be microchipping your pet. If you don’t have a dog to bring, you can adopt one from one of the animal rescue organizations in attendance; last year more than 100 pooches found new homes. The carnival is still looking for more vendors—email Mahar at firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested, or with questions about the event.
