Corporate Punishment

.
. . . . . .

It seems the organizers of the annual Chase Corporate Challenge can’t find a date that doesn’t include some weather calamity or another. The race has been moved from August because of weather interference. One year the start time was delayed for lightning. This year, the problem was excessive heat and humidity. Indeed, while it did feel like New Orleans on June 19, the trained runners in the field could have handled it. In our view, the race should have kept the 3.5-mile run for those who wanted to compete, while offering walkers or those skittish about the heat the opportunity to walk. Converting the race into a 2-mile fun run was the ultimate Corporate sellout.
