You Gotta Have Art

.
. . . . . .

Great art is underappreciated in its time. Heck, even Van Gogh had to cut off his ear just to get a little attention. That’s why CNY Artists Gallery is presenting The Inner World and Psyche of  the Afro-American Experience, a showcase of the works of local artist Ron Warford, through March 31 in honor of Black History Month. “Ron had work in the Smithsonian when he was 19 or 20, but has been unrecognized until now,” says Peter Svoboda, the gallery’s owner and curator. “His work would be a good addition to any current or future art collection.” Warford’s carbon pencil drawings, including “Strength” (pictured), will be on display and for sale at CNY Artists, located near the food court at Shoppingtown Mall, 3649 Erie Blvd. E., DeWitt. The gallery is open Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For details, dial 391-5115.
