Ragtime

Ithaca’s Hangar Theatre continues its summer season with this musical version of E.L. Doctorow’s epic novel linking characters from three different social backgrounds as they converge in New York City at the turn of the 20th century. The strongest story arc concerns the relationship between Sarah (Joaquina Kalukango, pictured at left) and her pianoplaying love interest Coalhouse Walker (Josh Tower). The Hangar is located in scenic Cass Park on 810 Taughannock Blvd. (Route 89). Show times are Thursday, June 23, 7:30 p.m.; Friday, June 24, 8 p.m.; Saturday, June 25, 3 and 8 p.m.; Sunday, June 26, 2 p.m.; Tuesday, June 28, and Wednesday, June 29, 7:30 p.m.; with additional performances through July 10.
