Movie Mayhem

.
. . . . . .

The next edition of the “Brew & View” 35mm film series at Eastwood’s Palace Theatre, 2384 James St., features a big-budget bullet-riddled epic plus a low-budget walk on the wild side. The 1988 spectacle Die Hard made Bruce Willis (pictured with Bonnie Bedelia) the next action hero (the durable franchise may grind out a fifth installment!) but it still remains a funny, violent, hyperkinetic thriller, with Alan Rickman divine as a Eurotrash villain. Also on the bill: Switchblade Sisters (inset), a 1975 girl-gang expose that is still a cultish drive-in favorite and not just because Quentin Tarantino likes it, too. The fun starts on Friday, Feb. 25, 7 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for students. For details, dial 436-4723.
