Vertigo

Acclaimed as one of the all-time movie greats, director Alfred Hitchcock’s 1958 tale of romance and obsession will screen in a 35mm print this weekend at Rome’s Capitol Theatre, 220 W. Dominick St. Vertigo concerns a San Francisco detective (James Stewart) who frets about high places thanks to his acrophobia, but the cop’s fears are compounded by the dark psychological avenues that he must take after he falls (in so many ways) for a mysterious suicidal woman (Kim Novak). The movie runs Friday, Feb. 4, 7 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 5, 2:30 and 7 p.m. Admission is $5.50 for adults, $1.50 for children. For details, call 337-6453.
