A pair of 1970s flicks that have earned sizable cult followings with automotive aficionados form the next attraction from the “Brew and View” folks at Eastwood’s Palace Theatre, 2384 James St., on Sunday, Jan. 16, 7:30 p.m. The 35mm series kicks off with 1974’s Gone in 60 Seconds, the largely improvised carcrash action epic from auteur H.B. Halicki, with vintage slow-motion mayhem and stunts galore. Later on the double bill: 1971’s Two- Lane Blacktop, director Monte Hellman’s existential classic about two muscle-car gearheads (non-actors James Taylor and Dennis Wilson in their only film roles) racing for pink slips, plus a female free spirit (Laurie Bird) and the grizzled GTO driver (a terrific Warren Oates) they meet on the way. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for students. For information, call 436-4723.
