Home-baked waffles with a side of hot picking is on the menu at Funk ‘N Waffles, 727 S. Crouse Ave., on Friday, Jan. 14, when these sibling prodigies demonstrate their virtuosity on stringed instruments from fiddles to guitars, mandolins and banjos. Backed by a four-piece ensemble, the boys will energize the traditional bluegrass styles that spread through Appalachia after crossing the pond from Ireland, leading into jazz, rock and world music styles. Their intricate arrangements take flight through inspired improvisational riffs, making for a sweet and tasty evening.
