Country Roadies

.
. . . . . .

As always, their sound features a unique and eclectic mix of
alternative country and roots rock packing a powerful punch and loaded
with infectious energy. The dynamic vocal harmonizing of Kay
Miracle-Burke
and Paul Kolo layered over the blistering lead
guitar of Michael Burke and thumping bass of Dave Curtis
encores with the beat now picked up by new member Dave Read, who
has drummed for such notables as Ed Hamell and the Works, the
Viceroys, the Doyle-Whiting Band
and the East Shore
All-Stars

“It’s really great to be back together,” raved Burke. “Dave {Read} is
a great addition for us, so it’s like no time has passed at all since
we last played.” Saturday, June 12, will be the coming out party for the
five-time Syracuse New Times Syracuse Area Music Awards
(Sammy)
winners as they’ll play Baldwinsville’s Paper Mill Island
Budweiser Amphitheater
from 6:30 to 8 p.m. as part of the Blessing
of the Fleet. Admission for that event, which also features the polished
horn band sounds of Brass, Inc., is $5.

A packed house at a recent show got a sneak peak of Reckless Drivin’
on March 10 during a listeners’ showcase event sponsored by radio
station WBBS-FM 104.7 (B-104.7) featuring national duo Steel
Magnolia
. Fans rewarded the rejuvenated quintet’s sparkling set with
a rousing ovation. In addition to live performances, fans can look
forward to more good news. “We’re close to completing a new CD,” Burke
says. “We expect to release it later this year.”

While more summer dates are pending, one highlight will be July 14
from 7 to 9 p.m. when Reckless drives up to Sylvan Beach for WFRG-FM
(104.3)
’s popular Big Frog Showcase summer series in the
village square.
