Saturday Night Fever and Pulp Fiction at Palace

.
. . . . . .

Decide for yourself which movie best exhibits the fancy footwork of John Travolta when Eastwood’s Palace Theatre,
2384 James St., screens a double bill showcasing the actor’s best
features on Friday, Dec. 11, 7 p.m. Travolta strutted his stuff early
in his career for 1977’s Saturday Night Fever (above,
with co-star Karen Lynn Gorney) as a Polyester disco diva who wants out
of his dead-end life in Brooklyn. Then after a string of 1980s-era
movie setbacks, the star came roaring back to prominence to display
oodles of killer cool in Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 noir melodrama Pulp Fiction
(below, with Uma Thurman). This edition of the “Brew and View” 35mm
series is also a partial benefit for the Eastwood Neighborhood
Association’s planned skateboard park. Admission is $8, with $2 knocked
off if you’re dolled up in disco duds. For information, call 436-4723.
