A Taste of Philadelphia

.
. . . . . .

Right in the heart of Eastwood, the restaurant has been around for over 40 years. It’s not your typical restaurant in Syracuse. Its walls are plastered with Philadelphia memorabilia, including some pictures directly from the City of Brotherly Love, disco music rings in your ears, and the friendly service reminds you of the good humor shown in the ads in the New Times every other week. The only thing business about the place is its cheese steaks. The steaks are made of real, chopped rib eye meat and grilled to order. Any of the cheeses topped on the steak will make the warm-breaded sandwich melt in your mouth. If you’re a regular, they might even know your order before you make it. “It’s very family-oriented,” owner Nancy Carni said. “Everything comes together to make it more fun and unique for the customers.”

And unique your visit will be! Whether you prefer a good old classic cheese steak with just steak and cheese or dare to be different and try the delicious chicken cheese steak, when you step out onto the sidewalk you may have forgotten you were actually in Syracuse the whole time.

A Taste of Philadelphia also offers sandwiches, salads, and many side dishes such as French fries and chili. There are many options to choose from and at reasonable prices between $5 and $7. The only way you might empty your wallet is if you can’t get enough of “The Whiz” and keep going back for more!
