Mac's Bad Art Bar

.
. . . . . .

Pat MacMurray doesn’t rely on his sense of humor to get people into his bar; in his words the art is “just to give the folks a giggle.” Entertainment, especially live music, has been Mac’s bread and butter for the seven years it’s been open. The week starts with a mostly acoustic Monday, continues with Karaoke on Tuesday, builds to Open Mic Night on Thursday, and brings out the big guns for Friday and Saturday. The place suits live performance. People can pack in close to the bands on the dance floor or see equally well from elevated tables on either side of the stage. National acts have praised the sound system, saying they’ve never sounded better.

If you’re competitive, Mac’s has dart leagues, billiards, game machines and sponsors volleyball and bowling teams. And if convenience is your thing you’ll appreciate the near infinite parking—there are literally hundreds of them between Mac’s and Strike ‘N Spare Lanes, the neighboring bowling alley. Also convenient (and satisfying) is the full kitchen, open daily from 3 to midnight. You might feel so at home, you won’t want to leave. No sleepovers, though.
