GOOD WEEK
. . . for Turning Stone Resort and Casino, which has once again been nominated by the Academy of Country Music for Casino of the Year. In 2008, the Showroom and Event Center saw concerts by Toby Keith, Randy Travis, sisters Loretta Lynn and Crystal Gayle, Trisha Yearwood and Aaron Tippin. The awards ceremony is April 5 from Las Vegas.
. . . for Jeff Glor, hunky reporter-anchor on WSTM-Channel 3 from 1997 to 2003, who was promoted to anchor of the Sunday edition of the CBS Evening News. Glor, whose CBS title is national correspondent, was dispatched to cover the Feb. 12 airplane crash in Clarence Center, and he mentioned on-air that he grew up in nearby Tonawanda.

BAD WEEK
. . . for campers, who will have six fewer facilities to choose from this summer, with their closure announced by the state Department of Environmental Protection. All six are in the Adirondacks and Catskills but apparently weren’t very popular, as they had occupancy rates of less than 20 percent. As for the black bears, they’ll have to Yogi their camper-imported food supply elsewhere.
. . . for overused cliches, such as “trying economic times” or “tough economic times” or “difficult economic times. ” Why beat around the bush, people? We are trapped in a constipation-like recession, the bottom of which we still haven’t found; ha-ha, get it? The best thing everyone can do to effect some movement is to go out and spend $1.
