Extra! Extra!

.
. . . . . .

While the average ambition of those searching for a prosthetic appendage is to return one’s body to a state of normalcy, Ellen Garven’s current photo exhibit at Light Work, 316 Waverly Ave., does just the opposite by exploring unusual views of the human form. Prosthesis
is Garven’s attempt to embellish the aesthetic qualities of various
bones, organic shapes and other corporal sites. The exhibit runs during
normal gallery hours: Sundays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.,
through March 5. A reception will be held on Thursday, Jan. 29, 5 to 7
p.m. Admission to both the gallery and the reception is free. For more
information, call 443-1300.
