in cinema lends itself well to altered states of mind, a fact nurtured
by a new series dubbed the Brew and View 35mm Film Series. Slated to kick off its inaugural event on Friday, Jan. 9, at 10:45 p.m. at the Palace Theatre,
2384 James St., participants ages 21 and older will have a chance to
sample some tasty beverages while taking in director John Carpenter’s
1980 film The Fog in addition to director Don Coscarelli’s 1988 shocker Phantasm 2.
Viewers age 16 and older are also welcome, but cannot drink. Admission
to the series is $10 for the general public, or $7 for those who come
dressed as a slasher or a murder victim. For more information, call
