With chilly winter on its way, escape into a sunnier world during the Caribbean Cinematic Film Festival, which takes place this week at the Community Folk Art Center,
805 E. Genesee St. A variety of flicks will be offered, with several
filmmakers from Trinidad, Barbados, Jamaica, Tobago and Cuba slated to
make appearances for post-film discussions. On Thursday, Oct. 23, 7
p.m., director Andrew Millington will screen Guttaperc; Friday, Oct 24, 7 p.m., features Millington’s drama Zora’s Dream; the family-friendly cartoon blowout Animae Caribe checks in on Saturday, Oct. 25, 1 p.m, followed at 6 p.m. by director Yao Ramesar’s Sistagod.; and the fest wraps on Sunday, Oct. 26, 3 p.m., with director Rosie Perez’s I’m a Boricua, Just So You Know
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors and $2 for
