Be prepared to be terrified out of your mind at this year’s Fright Nights at the New York State Fairgrounds,
currently running Fridays and Saturdays, 7 to 11:30 p.m., and Sundays,
7 to 11 p.m., through Nov. 1. For the event’s third annual festivities,
four thematic houses have been designed to scare the yell out of you:
Frankenstein’s Mansion, a trip through a mad scientist’s abode; The
Crypt, a journey through the dwellings of the undead; the Carn-Evil
Macabre, an expose of the freakiest sideshows you’ll ever see; and the
Circus of Horror, a signature exhibit in which visitors enter via the
jaws of a demented clown. Admission is $10 for individual attractions,
or $20 for all four attractions; group rates are available, although
parental guidance is suggested for kids under age 9. For more
information, call 383-3386.
