Buh-dee-buh-dee-buh-dee that’s not classical, folks! Or at least the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra will be anything but during the upcoming Pops Series opener, titled Bugs Bunny on Broadway. Bugs himself will greet visitors at the door, while the orchestra will have oodles of fun under the auspices of conductor George Daugherty,
who created and directed the Broadway hit of the same name. Classic
Warner Brothers cartoon shorts from director Chuck Jones such as What’s Opera, Doc? and The Rabbit of Seville
will screen above the orchestra during performances on Friday, Sept.
26, 8 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 27, 10:30 a.m. and 8 p.m., at the Mulroy Civic Center’s Crouse-Hinds Concert Theater,
411 Montgomery St. Jones’ artwork will also be on display in the lobby.
Tickets for the evening concerts are $25 to $75; tickets to morning
show are $25. For more information, call 424-8200.
