Third Time's a Charm

.
. . . . . .

Feed both your eyes and your belly during this month’s Th3 (Third Thursdays)
event, during which art galleries open up their doors and offer
special, free programs to get art fans psyched. Not only will you have
a chance to stop out at 10 galleries throughout the Salt City area from
5 to 8 p.m., but by stopping in at participating venues you’ll have the
chance to enter for a giveaway for two certificates to Gentile’s Restaurant,
305 Burnet Ave. Events featured during this month’s run on Thursday,
Aug. 21, will be artist Ken Nichols’ display, ambitiously titled “Inner
Brainscape: Paintings of Universal Energy,” at Eureka Crafts, 210 Walton St., from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; call 471-4601 for more information. Also in the spotlight, SU Art Galleries, located in the Shaffer Art Building on the Syracuse University campus, will host a 5 p.m. public lecture from Gary Radke
concerning the gallery’s impressive showing of original Michelangelo
sketches, an exhibit called “Michelangelo: The Man and the Myth.”
Guided tours of the exhibit begin at 6 p.m; call 443-4097. Many other
exhibits will run on the day, so be sure to check th3syracuse.com
for more information, or call 416-4893.
