Do the Scottish indeed wear knickers under their kilts? Find out during this weekend’s Central New York Scottish Games,
a celebration of Sean Connery’s brethren and the culture of the
timeless highlands, primed to kick off on Saturday, Aug. 9, 9 a.m. to 6
p.m., at Longbranch Park, Long Branch Road, Liverpool.
Festivities will include rough-and-tumble athletic competition during a
caber and sheaf toss among other cultural sports; athlete registration
begins at noon. The Ceilidh Band, Fieldstone and Dicey Riley
will provide musical entertainment after the sports commence. Tickets
are $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, $4 for children ages 5 to
12, and free for children 5 and younger. For more information, call
