Expanding on the beloved cake batter ice
cream flavor that was introduced in 2003, a new lineup has been formed
around this theme for this promotional round. On July 2,
baseball-themed specials including the blueberry double play,
consisting of blueberry muffin ice cream, blueberries and yellow cake,
and the blueberry muffin ice cream were entered into their
confectionary lineup.
A few shakes, such as the Bananas for Baseball and
Chocolate Cake Batter Ice Cream, will serve as fine treats before a
Syracuse Chiefs ball game at nearby Alliance Bank Stadium, 1 Tex Simone
Drive. The Rookie Cookie Cake features layers of devil’s food cake and
Cookie Batter Ice Cream mixed with chocolate shavings, covered in
ganache and crumbed with chocolate chips.
A new recipe may be called up from the minors at any
moment, so keep an eye out for other baseball cakes and shakes that may
be brought in as designated hitters before the special ends on Aug. 31.
