Hump Day

.
. . . . . .

With No. 1 singles in tow, three-time Grammy winner Fergie will headline this year’s Syracuse University Block Party on Tuesday, April 22, 8 p.m., at the Carrier Dome,
900 Irving Ave. The Dutchess is no stranger to Central New York (she
played Verona’s Turning Stone last Dec. 28 and her Black Eyed Peas
outfit appeared at the 2006 New York State Fair) and the Dome show is
sure to feature “London Bridge,” “Glamorous,” “Clumsy” (which samples
the 1950s Bobby Troup rave-up “The Girl Can’t Help It”) and the remix
of “Big Girls Don’t Cry” with Sean Kingston, the 18-year-old
reggae crooner who will also be on hand. Kingston will chip in his own
hits, including current chart-topper “Take You There.” In addition to
the show, free, public MayFest and MayFest AfterDark events will take
place during the day and evening throughout campus. Tickets are $40 for
the general public, $20 for SU students. For more information, call
443-7082.
