If you remember sipping white chocolate
and blowing butts with other literary geeks at Syracuse’s now-defunct
Happy Endings Cake and Coffeehouse, you might know local poet Georgia Popoff,
who organized the event briefly in the 1990s. The writer is currently
clocking in at the YMCA Downtown Writer’s Center as an educator. Popoff
has finished her second book of poetry, The Doom Weaver (Main Street Rag), a work that was 10 years in the making. She officially pushes this bird out of its nest at the Everson Museum of Art, 401 Harrison St., on Sunday, March 16, 2 p.m. Admission is free; for information, call 474-6064.
