History’s Hometown Architecture Walking Tour

A guided walking tour between the Seward House Museum and Cayuga Museum, the History’s Hometown Architecture Tour profiles iconic examples of domestic architecture, discussing stylistic evolution and the history of the buildings and their occupants. Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably in anticipation of two hours of walking through city neighborhoods. Admission for the tour is $10 or a Combo Package is available for $20 that includes the walking tour and a voucher to tour both museums valid through August…

Seward House Research Assistant, Mitchell Maniccia, discusses the roles and livelihoods of servants that maintained iconic mansions like the Seward House and former Willard family home. Touching upon examples from the Seward family and practices of the period, the presentation discusses the lives of the individuals behind the famous facades. Program is free with Museum admission.
