Join us for a stimulating evening with our Trans*cending Gender artists! Gavin Rouille, (pictured left) a transgender artist and activist, was born in Burlington, Vermont in 1987. He received a BFA from Maine College of Art in 2009, and an MFA from Indiana University in 2014. Rouille has exhibited works in the US and in Mongolia, Ireland, Estonia, and Germany. Nuclear Savage is a powerful and emotional documentary that explores the American nuclear testing in the North Pacific Marshall Islands, 1946-1958, and particularly the secret Project 4.1: an American experiment exposing Pacific Islanders to overdoses of radiation—deliberate human radiation poisoning. Between 1946 and 1958 the United States tested 67 nuclear weapons above ground on or near Bikini and Enewetok Islands.
