Jazz fans have a rare opportunity to hear two internationally-acclaimed jazz artists on Saturday, June 7 at 8:00 p.m. in Theater Mack at the Cayuga Museum. Omar Tamez, Mexico’s most respected jazz and new music guitarist, and Harv Sorgen, a celebrated drummer who has played and recorded with Hot Tuna, Paul Simon, Bruce Hornsby and many more, will be playing with Auburn’s own Peter Mack, jazz bassist who has recorded several big band albums with the leading lights of modern jazz.
Tamez, founder and director of Mexico’s leading new music festival “ENCEUENTRO INTERNATIONAL,” is a leading proponent of increasing cultural understanding through musical collaboration.
This performance is a benefit for the Cayuga Museum and is sponsored by Mack Studios. Tickets are $15 and are available in advance at the Cayuga Museum, or at the door on Saturday night. Cash bar is available. Call the Museum at 315 253-8051 for more information.
