The museum will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day from Dec. 21 through Jan. 5, except Christmas, with demonstrations, planetarium shows and much more! So keep your children learning in a fun, interactive way even though they’re not in school.
Among the activities:
• A science demonstration at noon and an animal demonstration at 2:30 p.m. every day. Free with exhibit admission.
• The Silverman Planetarium will offer two shows, Santa in the Sky at 11:15 a.m. and Winter Skies at 3:15 p.m. Planetarium shows cost $2 per person for nonmembers and is free for members, but members must pick up a ticket at the admissions desk.
• Educators will be offering hands-on tabletop activities at stations throughout the museum. Free with exhibit admission.
• Go in-depth on one topic with an engaging 45-minute science program on some days during the vacation break. Free with admission.
For nonmembers, admission to exhibits costs $8 for adults and $7 for children 2-11 and seniors 65 and older, and IMAX tickets are $9.50 per adult and $7.50 for children and seniors. Combination tickets, which cover admission to exhibits and an IMAX movie, cost $12 for adults and $10 for children and seniors. For members, exhibit admission is free and IMAX movies cost $6.50 for adults and $5.50 for children 2-17 and seniors 65 and older.
